Getting connected with a tutor using Yup on the web is easy! Follow these steps:
Ensure you’re logged in to Yup using the instructions here and get ready with your math problem and/or the work you’ve done already either already screenshotted or ready to go.
There are two ways to start a session.
Take a picture with a camera
- You can take a picture of your math problem by clicking Take a picture with a camera
- The first time you use Yup on your laptop, Chrome will ask you to let Yup use your camera. Click Allow:
If you get a Your webcam is blocked notification, please check this article to find out how to fix it. - Hold your math problem up to your laptop’s camera. Then click Take picture.
- (Optional) You can draw on the picture by clicking and dragging with your mouse
- Click Request math tutor
- You will soon be connected with a tutor, who will review your math problem and then start your tutoring session. While you are being connected, you will be asked a series of questions about your problem to help the session go faster.
Upload from device
- You can take a picture of your math problem and save it on your laptop.
- When you’re ready to start a session, click on Upload from device and choose the photo that of your math problem.
- Click Request math tutor
- You will soon be connected with a tutor, who will review your math problem and then start your tutoring session. While you are being connected, you will be asked a series of questions about your problem to help the session go faster.
